QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPRENTICESHIP

There are many ways an individual may qualify to make application for the electricians apprenticeship. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Although no experience is required, the circumstance underwhich you apply may qualify you for DIRECT INTERVIEW or DIRECT ENTRY. 

All applicants must submit an application, supporting documentation & ID's, and sit for the aptitude test. Difference, DIRECT INTERVIEW (DI) and DIRECT ENTRY (DE) candidates will not be disqualified for interview, ranking, and/or selection based on the results of their aptitude test.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPRENTICESHIP

DID YOU KNOW? There are a number of conditions which you may qualify for application. Below are few:

  1. Basic Qualifications: 17 years old, High School Graduate with an Algebra 1 credit 
  2. Military Experience: 3 yrs. active duty under honorable service, or 6 yrs. reserve service, and/or an MOS related to the trade (DI)
  3. Electrical Experience: 2,000 worked in the electrical construction trade (DI)
  4. Interim Credential: have successfully received an  Electrical Training Alliance Interim Credential (DI)
  5. School to Apprenticeship: have completed a School to Registered Apprenticeship Program (DI)
  6. Job Corps: have completed Job Corps program related to electrical construction within 2 years (DI)
  7. Pre-Apprenticeship: have completed a structured pre-apprenticeship as recognized by the JATC (DI)
  8. New Employer: working for a contracor who becomes signatory. (DE)
  9. Organizing Efforts: have signed an authorization card during an organizing effort (DE)
  10. Transfer: are transfering between JATC's (DE)

Applicants qualifying for application shall provide the following where applicable or required:

  • Driver's License or Photo ID. Valid, in date, state or government issued
  • Social Security Card or Birth Certificate. Original, state agency or government issued copy
  • Official Transcript. Sealed or encrypted. For high school and post high school education and training.
  • Diploma, Certificate, and/or GED. Original, school issued documents.
  • Substantiating Documentation. As required and requested by the JATC office.
  • Form DD-214 (MILITARY VETERANS ONLY)
  • Work Experience Documentation. TDLR Expereience Form, tax/payroll records, notarized attestation letter form employer, etc.
