SOTX Training Center

Since 1946 we have been the standard bearer of trade education excellence. A true “earn while you learn” program. Apprentices gain trade skills, knowledge, and licensure through both “On the Job Training” and structured classroom training, all while earning outstanding wages and excellent benefits.

Electricians Apprenticeship: A structured five year program, electrican apprentices attend class two days a month, September through June. In addition to related classes, students participate in on-the-job training (OJT). Each apprentice is assigned to, and employed by, a qualified electrical contractor. Through OJT, students will earn full time wages and benefits while also gaining valuable trade experience. Upon completion, apprentices will have a minimum of 8,000 of on the job experience, 990 classroom hours, and a State of Texas Electrical License. Student’s also receive college credit through A.C.E.

Technologies Apprenticeship: A structured three year program, technologies apprentices attend class Tuesday evenings, September through June. In addition to related classes, students participate in on-the-job training (OJT). Each apprentice is assigned to, and employed by, a qualified technologies contractor. Through OJT, students will earn full time wages and benefits while also gaining valuable trade experience. Upon completion, apprentices will have a minimum of 6,000 of on the job experience, 528 classroom hours, and trained for BICSI Technician Certification. Student’s also receive college credit through A.C.E.
